Owen Wolff turns heads in MLS, gets call-up to U-19 MYNT

Teen Wolff’s coming-of-age happened right before our eyes in May.

The young monster of the midfield shined in his first appearance as a starter, against first-place LAFC, and immediately followed it up with a 23 of 24 completed-passing performance in his start against Orlando. Third time was a charm (as a starter) when Owen Wolff bagged his first MLS assist, perfectly setting up Diego Fagundez’s goal versus LA Galaxy.

Wolff had this to say about growing up so fast in MLS.

“I just keep working hard as a young player, because that’s what we do as young players — just work hard. As we get older, the quality will start coming and we’ll start seeing the game at a faster speed, like the older guys do.”

The accolades don’t stop there. Owen Wolff was called up by head coach Marko Mitrović to the U.S. Under-19 Men’s Youth National Team on May 27. He is one of 20 youth players invited to Marbella, Spain for a pair of friendlies against England and Norway during the three-week MLS hiatus.

True to form, with Owen Wolff donning No. 10 in the starting XI, the U-19 squad got off to a blistering start in Spain, recording a 2-1 win against England.

The USA squad then topped Norway 3-0 on June 9. Owen Wolff didn’t start the match.
