The Verde boys are back!
Austin FC has seven weeks of preseason to prepare for the club’s 2023 MLS season—set to kick off against St. Louis CITY SC on Feb. 25.
Players reported to St. David’s Performance Center on Friday, Jan. 6 for physicals. The team’s first full day of training will be held on Monday, Jan. 9.
This will the first camp for new Austin FC players Gyasi Zardes, Matt Bersano, Sofiane Djeffal, and Alfonso Ocampo-Chávez. (There’s no timetable for Leo Vaisanen‘s arrival as the club is still waiting for his P-1 Visa and ITC.)
Like last year, Austin FC will play in at least four preseason matches. None of the matches are scheduled at Q2 Stadium this year, but there’s still availability in the calendar to add a fifth game the week of Feb. 13.
