Maxi Urruti appears to spill the beans on Sebastian Driussi’s new kit number for 2022.
Eagle-eyed Austin FC fans noticed Urruti tagged two numbers in a recent Instagram post of himself and Driussi — #37 and #7.
No. 37 is clearly Maxi’s jersey number. We can only assume that No. 7 is meant for the other Argentine forward pictured.
On January 22, Maxi Urruti [@maxiurruti37] posted, “Mismas energías 🇦🇷! #37 #7 💚🖤 @austinfc”. The message translates to “Same energy 🇦🇷!”

Last season for the Verde and Black, Sebastian Driussi wore No. 25 and Tomás Pochettino donned the prized No. 7. Earlier this month, though, Austin FC loaned Pochettino to River Plate on a one-year contract.
No hard feelings from Poche about losing his kit number it seems, as he posted the clapping hands emoji in reply to Urruti’s post.

None of this number news is official and the club has not publicly addressed it. The player roster on Austin FC’s site currently lists Sebastian Driussi as No. 25.

To be honest, No. 7 isn’t truly Sebastian Driussi’s favorite jersey number. It would most definitely be No. 11, currently worn by forward Rodney Redes; the number Driussi wore throughout his career at River Plate and Zenit Saint Pete.
Once (if) it becomes official, fans of the Argentine soccer star undoubtedly will be looking to replace their No. 25 Austin FC jersey for No. 7 to be ready for the new season that starts Feb. 26 against FC Cincinnati.
