Travis Clark Interview

We interviewed Travis Clark from Top Drawer Soccer about the SuperDraft and the Austin FC academy. Top Drawer Soccer is the leading source for club, high school and college soccer. Travis provided insights on players available in the draft and some historical context about the types of players available in the SuperDraft.

Other SuperDraft Talk

Mock drafts seems to indicate that Austin is looking heavily at either Philip Mayaka, midfielder from Clemson or forward Calvin Harris of Wake Forest. In addition to looking at this year’s draft, we also looked back at previous expansion drafts from expansion teams, including the productive draft of LAFC as well as the bizarre approach taken by FC Cincinnati.

Adrian Healey on The Striker Texas Instagram Live Video

Austin FC’s own Adrian Healey appeared this week on an Instagram live video hosted by The Striker Texas, a new soccer website. Healey provided some additional insights on what he thinks the club needs and gushed about the abilities of Diego Fagundez.

CBA Negotiations Continue

Last week, the MLSPA responded to the league’s first offer for a new CBA and the response was less than glowing. We talked briefly about what that might mean for the start of the season, particularly as players are arriving in Austin.

The Legends (Away) Jersey

Austin FC came out with the first round of promotion for the new jersey, which featured several Austin FC supporters. We speculate a bit on whether the jersey will be boring old white or will have some flair in the design.

On the Next Episodes

We will be back next week with more player and club news. We will also have a review of the players selected in the SuperDraft.
