MLS Playoffs Down To Four
By time time this podcast comes out, the MLS final will be set . The guys discussed the playoffs to date along with the Eastern Conference final, which was played on Sunday.
Academy Fall Season Concludes
The Austin FC academy finished the fall portion of the MLS Next season. The U-15 team picked up another win, finishing a strong first campaign at the level.
Paul Aguilar, Julio Cascante, and Wil Trapp(?)
Player acquisition and trade rumors about as the MLS offseason approaches. MLSSoccer.com reported that Portland defender Julio Cascante is headed to Austin in a deal for $250K in allocation money. Paul Aguilar is definitely bound for MLS, and possibly for Austin. Columbus’ own Wil Trapp is also available as a free agent from Inter Miami. The guys discuss each of these players and what they could mean for Austin.
Interview with Scott Adair, Austin Soccer Foundation
Landon and Jeremiah interviewed Scott Adair, president of Austin Soccer Foundation. Austin Soccer Foundation provides scholarships, supports player development, supports referee development and field development in the Austin area. They host a well-attended Foot Golf tournament every year and host an annual awards gala.
Interview with Aaron Rochlen, Soccer Assist (and Academy parent)
Landon and Jeremiah also interviewed Aaron Rochlen, founder of Soccer Assist. Soccer Assist has partnered with the club, 4ATX Foundation and others to build two mini-pitches in Austin with plans for more. Aaron’s son also plays on the U-15 Academy team.
