Academy Results
The U-15s of the Austin FC Academy continued their winning ways with victories over Houston and RGV in recent weeks. The club also announced a partnership with Classics Elite soccer club in San Antonio and held academy tryouts in Brownsville this week.
Coaching Staff Hires
This week, Austin FC announced the hiring of two new assistant coaches – Noland Sheldon, previously of DC United and Rodrigo Rios, most recently with Atlanta United.
Super Draft Changes
The MLS Super Draft is scheduled for January 2021. Rumors recently broke that the draft would be shortened from four rounds to three rounds, with the story first appearing in the Athletic.
Austin FC Has a Jersey
After a long wait, Austin FC launched the official 2021 jersey to great fanfare. Brock Williams joined the show to talk about the jersey and fan reactions to the event. The guys also covered the marketing campaign that led up to the launch and how fans embraced the Uniform of Austin concept.
Sponsorship Updates
Austin FC has signed a barrage of recent sponsors, including H-E-B, Fairmont Austin and Netspend. Jeremiah covers a few highlights that fans may be interested in from each agreement.
MLS Expanion Draft
Chris Welhausen and Chris Hague joined Landon for an in-depth overview of the MLS expansion draft and projected Austin FC picks. The expansion draft will take place on December 15.
