Ted Lasso

Jeremiah finally watched Ted Lasso on Apple TV and the guys discussed the show, along with an interesting interview of Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt (co-creators and stars) on the Brene Brown podcast discussing the tone and message of the show.

Academy & UT Women’s Updates

The Austin FC Academy faced their biggest test yet, at home versus FC Dallas, and came up a bit short at each level. Landon attended the U15 match and provided highlights. That wasn’t the only match in town this weekend, as La Murga de Austin provided the soundtrack for a 1-0 victory supported by Los Verdes, Austin Anthem and La Cinco12.

MLS 2020 Finale/2021 Season Kickoff

MLS announced its plan for a playoff bracket lasting from November 20 to December 12. As with everything in 2020, the schedule is COVID-dependent. The real work of constructing the Austin FC roster will begin when that is done. Landon & Jeremiah also discussed the rumored delayed start of the 2021 season with new information from Don Garber.

The Daryl Grove Grove

Mateo Clarke recently suggested on Twitter that Austin FC fans name a group of trees near McKalla Stadium after Daryl Grove. The guys discussed this idea, along with the effect that Grove has had on soccer culture in America.

Stadium Naming Rights Update

All indications are that the naming rights for the stadium have been sold, or are very close to being sold. Landon & Jeremiah discuss a couple favorites from Troy Bryant’s article on the topic and Landon shares a conspiracy theory based on a recent Anthony Precourt video clip.

Project Connect and McKalla Station

Cap Metro released new drawings for rail stops at McKalla Place and the airport. The guys discussed the station drawing itself along with what having a station at the stadium could mean for fans getting to and from the game via other modes of transportation.

Austin Soccer Foundation FootGolf

Austin Soccer Foundation will hold its 4th annual FootGolf Tournament on November 8. Registration is now open and a portion of the registration funds will go to charity.
