Winners & losers: MLS fan attendance (week 28)

Major League Soccer (MLS) stadium attendance winners & losers as of Sept. 16, 2019.

Four out of 6 clubs at the very bottom are original 96ers. Columbus Crew, Colorado Rapids, New England Revolution, and FC Dallas all joined the league in 1996.

Atlanta United, FC Cincinnati, and Los Angeles FC get a new team “bump” as they experience higher than average fan attendance. Portland Timbers have been added to the chart after reopening their stadium that was closed while being renovated.

Texas clubs are especially awful. Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas combined have averaged about 15,000 fans in 2019. Austin FC stadium at McKalla Place will seat 20,500 when it unveils in 2021.
